After the end-of-term work load's been put away, the sore back restored after my fall down the stairs, and catching up on my sleep, followed by a total absence of interruptions, today, I got the living room and kitchen cleaned up. We'd shampooed the living room carpet, way back when, and everything went into boxes, which were stacked throughout my office and the hallway. Stuff is now back into place, the shelves and piano dusted and polished, books in proper order, and the music stand back next to the piano.
If I am so lucky as to have a second day of this, I hope to bail out my office, so that I can get started on the upgrade for my desktop computer. (Bought myself a larger HD and WinXP to replace the 2000.) Have to finish backing up photo and client files to the Linux box, and then I'm running with Open Office until the Windows computer is back on line, again.
Once the wind gusts get down below 25 mph and rain/snow is no longer in the forecast, maybe I can also finish clearing the garden plot for planting over the Memorial Day weekend.

Yes, that really is snow that's fallen on the stair railing. Maybe we'll get accumulation, and I'll get some more "Spring Snow on Tulips" photos.

And, thanks to the strong winds of last night, I have a photo of LOTS of Eastern Cottonwood catkins (see May 7), which should illustrate why
pat_berry dislikes them so much, having numerous cottonwood trees in her yard. We only have two in our neighborhood, and the catkins from one tree threaten to cover the length of half a city block.

Finally got a picture and text up for the affirmation Monday topic of Well-Being; the original topic actually was "wellness," but that seems not to be quite the right word for where my thoughts immediately went. (Update note at my blog). Lots to think about on that subject. Not sure I'm done with it, yet.

I'd like to recommend Visions, by James C. Glass, Wildside Press, Jan. 2008 (ISBN-13: 9781434401960). I've read a number of his books over the years, and this one also is quite enjoyable. Available online from both the publisher and BarnesandNoble.com. B&N has a good synopsis posted on that page.
He's also the cover artist for the trade paperback, and it's a good match for the story.

Bold means you've read the play, italics means you've been in a production of it in any capacity, underlining means you've seen it live without being involved in a production, a star next to anything you've worked on in a class [English/theater/design/whatever]...

What we have here is the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing’s users. As in, they sit on the shelf to make you looksmart or well-rounded. Bold the ones you've read, underline the ones you read for school, italicize the ones you started but didn't finish.

With the shovels packed away in the backyard shed, snow boots ... somewhere out of sight, and Al out at the fair grounds by 6:00 this morning, I had fun shoveling a path to the boulevard sidewalk.

I am hoping that someone with a snowblower gets ambitious before I feel like shoveling that portion. The wind is still pretty bad, but it's not really cold out there.
